Two-Day Capacity Building Program for Biology Teachers
Inaugural Session
The program began with a warm welcome extended to the esteemed Resource persons Dr. Shikha Sharma and teaching faculty. The formal inauguration was marked by the traditional lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the dawn of enlightenment. In her motivational address, our Principal highlighted the pivotal importance of continuous professional development in Biology teaching, urging educators to embrace innovation for student success.
Objectives of the Program
To enhance subject knowledge and pedagogical skills of Biology teachers.To introduce innovative and competency-based teaching strategies.To integrate practical and experiential learning methods in classroom teaching.
Interactive teaching techniques were demonstrated vividly. Participants explored the effective use of models, charts, and digital tools in Biology. A dynamic group discussion focused on strategies to improve student engagement during practical sessions.Practical Demonstration
Hands-on demonstrations covered laboratory safety measures, proper handling and usage of equipment, and best practices for conducting effective Biology practicals in senior classes.
Expert guidance was provided on preparing competency-based question papers, along with proven techniques for formative and summative assessments.
The two-day program concluded on a high note with a sincere vote of thanks by our Principal Ma’am to Resource person, organizers and to the Biology department for their diligent efforts. The workshop proved immensely successful in enhancing the professional competencies of teachers, fostering a commitment to transformative Biology education.
