Festivals are celebrated to express our happiness on special days of national or religious importance. They play an important role in adding structure to our life.
Raksha-Bandhan stands out as a unique tradition of our rich culture that emphasizes the importance of relationships and family ties. A simple thread ties tightly the sentiments of security and affection between a brother and sister.
Pre-Nursery of APS celebrated Raksha Bandhan with their peers and teachers. Little Daffodils became aware of bond of love between a brother and a sister and associated themselves with this auspicious festival. They were allowed to come up with their own thoughts about the festival. Story narration helped them to understand the significance of this festival. Tiny tots also learnt a few new words like protection, blessings, shopping, and so on. Then they actively participated in tying Rakhi on the wrist of each other and applying tika on each other’s forehead.
